The SAL Blog

Working on the salship.se website

The salship.se website was started in 1998, when my sons and I needed some kind of activity during a rainy summer week. Since then the website has developed into a huge portal and resource about an important part of 20th century shipping and Swedish corporate history. The site also plays a central part in my interest in the Swedish - American heritage.

Hi Lars,
Could you pass this message onto Mr. Hallgren? This article talks about Fremantle looking for a ship to berth as a hotel ship. Mr. Hallgren should look into the idea of having the MS Kungsholm is Australia by talking to the Fremantle City officials, such as Mayor Brad Pettitt. It would be a better alternative to the QE2. Mr. Hallgren should not give up on the Kungsholm just yet.
